The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of an APC ward Chairman in Ose local government area of the state, Mr Adepoyigi
He was abducted when was parking his car around 10pm on Monday in his house.
It was gathered that the assailants stormed the compound and pounced on Adepoyigi, beating him with sticks before whisking him away.
His wife, who heard his cries for help, rushed out but found he had already been taken.
The state Police spokesman, Mr Olayinka Ayanlade said the force is making efforts to rescue him.
Ayanlade said, “I can confirm to you that the chairman APC ward 5 was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along Ifon-Owo road. At the receipt of the report the DPO Ifon in collaboration with the hunters , local VGN and Nigeria Army personnel’s have launch a manhunt for the suspect (s).
“The Ondo State Police Command urges anyone with information that could aid in the rescue operation to come forward. Citizens are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.”
The State Commander of Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed that his men had launched a manhunt for the kidnappers and assured that efforts were ongoing to secure Adepoyigi’s safe release.
