…..Adebusuyi lauds Aiyedatiwa for Agriculture development, advises on resuscitation Agric. input agencies and sought for more tractors in the Local Governments to boost agricultural development.
A strong Chieftain of the APC in Ondo State, Hon. Pius Idowu Adebusuyi has lauded Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration on it commitment and efforts to Agriculture and economic development in the state.
This came to the fore while speaking with news men in Akure, on the area of government policies in harnessing agriculture development to prompt economy growth and development in the rural areas in the state.
The Commissioner 1 in the Ondo State House of Assembly Service Commission (ODHASC), commended Governor, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa while commenting positively on the impacts, growths and sustainable driving policies crafted to make Ondo state a global competitive agriculture hub.
The former Lawmaker, who acknowledged the Governor’s recent development on the area of rolling out the 1000 hectares of land to famers for proper farming, described the event as a laudable projects that will foster and draw the attention of people to farming and this he said will attract the interest of people to agriculture that will in many ways enhance maximum food security in the state.
The former council Chairman, Ifedore local government, also appreciated the governor for the stakeholders workshop held of recent to strengthen collaboration in the cocoa industry.
However while Commending the governor, Adebusuyi stressed the need for the state government to lay focus on mechanized farming to encourage more in agriculture productivity in the state most especially in the rural areas.
He said “it’s not encouraging that ondo state as a whole has few numbers of tractors, which works for the 18 council areas, this he said slow down the works of farmers and taken a longer time expected in their farming activities”
“He noted that more tractors should be provided in the state accross the 18 local government areas to ease the hard labor of farmers”.
The Agriculture Expert also advised government to encourage adequate funding of the Agriculture input agencies to enroll fungicides, pesticides and other valuable chemicals in order for farmers to get chemicals in a subsidized rate.
Hon. Adebusuyi, on the area of security applauded Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and further advised him to strengthen more of law enforcement on the aspect of insecurity in the state particularly to farmers.
