Today, Hon. Princess Omowunmi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole, founder of My Choice Group and former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Ondo State, hosted a memorial event to celebrate the life and legacy of her late mother, Mrs. Monisola Eddo.
The event, held 21 years after Mrs. Monisola Eddo’s passing, brought together esteemed guests, members of My Choice Group, and fellow mourners to share love, support, and stories.
The Akure Princess Princess expressed her gratitude to all attendees, acknowledging their presence as a testament to the impact of her mother’s legacy.
“My mother was an exceptional woman who embodied the values of kindness, generosity, and compassion,” said Hon. Omowunmi “Her legacy continues to inspire me and our organization to make a positive difference in the lives of women and widows.”
Pts.Mrs Mosunmola Olatunji, one of the daughters of the late Mrs. Monisola Eddo, described her mother as a caring and supportive parent who valued education and the well-being of her children. “My mother was a pillar of strength and a shining example of selflessness,” she said.
Hon. Olawale Eddo, one of the sons of the late Mrs. Monisola Eddo, also shared his fond memories of his mother, highlighting her passion for education and her desire to see all her children succeed. “My mother was a true matriarch who instilled in us the importance of hard work, discipline, and compassion,” he said.
The first son of Mrs. Monisola Eddo, who is currently in the USA, sent his appreciation to the family, expressing his regret for being unable to attend the celebration due to his tight work schedule. He described his mother as a “gallant woman” who will always be remembered for her remarkable qualities.
Ranti Fasonrati, the first daughter of the late Mrs. Monisola Eddo, remembered her mother as a “visionary mother” whose impact will continue to inspire future generations.
The event highlighted the tireless efforts of My Choice Group in empowering women and supporting widows, values instilled by Mrs. Eddo. Hon. Princess Omowunmi Olatunji has continued her mother’s legacy through her philanthropic work and advocacy for women’s rights.
Hon. Omowunmi’s father, Elder Samuel Olatunji Eddo, also passed away in June 2024, at the age of 101.¹ The family’s commitment to community service and philanthropy is a testament to their enduring legacy.
