In a groundbreaking initiative, the Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs, under the leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is set to launch a sensitization program focused on the boy child.
The program, aimed at promoting attitudinal change, emotional intelligence, anger management, and peer influence, will be flagged off on Friday in three schools in Ondo Town:
- Ondo Boys High School
- St. Joseph’s College
- Ondo (Ang) Grammar School
This innovative program marks a significant shift in the traditional focus on girls’ empowerment, recognizing the importance of addressing the unique needs and challenges of the boy child.
While Addressing newsmen in Akure, Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, Dr Seun Osamaye hailed the Governor for the initiative to raise awareness and sensitisation about the vulnerability of the boy child.
She said “by targeting emotional intelligence, anger management, and peer influence, the program aims to equip young boys with essential life skills, fostering healthier relationships, and communities”
The Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs is committed to promoting gender equality and empowering all children to reach their full potential irrespective of gender.
